Assignment Task
Literature review that examines key literature on a specific issue or population. Please refer to the Instructions section (below) for details on how to complete this task.
Context
The assessments for EPA618 consist of three interlinked tasks. The first assessment task is a literature review with a focus on a specific issue or population. The second assessment task is a written report in which you analyse and evaluate the key themes from your literature review. The third assessment task is an audio-visual presentation in which you summarise your key themes and findings and make recommendations for strategies for advocacy in relation to the specific issue or population. There is an abundance of literature that analyses key theories, approaches, methods or findings related to various issues, such as homelessness, social isolation, the criminal justice system, racism, strength-based approaches, consumer advocacy and populations, including people living with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness, social isolation, people with complex needs, people experiencing trauma and First Nations groups. The literature also includes the discourses surrounding it.
Literature reviews are commonly used in professional contexts to synthesise the latest research evidence on a topic or in a field. As such, being able to conduct a literature review is an invaluable skill for those needing to identify, understand and translate current research and evidence.
