You will complete the ‘Close reading guide’ and the ‘Purpose, effect, function chart’ (templates attached below).
You will write a 750-1000 word analytical essay on the short story. Please use the information in the research package and the notes you collect in the ‘Close reading guide’ and ‘Purpose, effect, function chart’ to write your essay. Please note: Your essay will NOT be marked if you do not submit the ‘Close reading guide’ and ‘Purpose, effect, function chart’.
REMEMBER: You must use MLA format throughout your response. You can find information about MLA in the introductory unit to this course. Please remember that plagiarism will not be tolerated. As a grade 12 student, you should already know all about plagiarism and MLA format. If you have any questions about academic honesty, please contact your teacher as soon as possible in order to avoid any misunderstandings.
