Assessment brief 

The coursework is a drug case study. Coursework on this module is weighted 100%. 

Final coursework due: 10th April 2025 

You will develop a ‘precis’ through the module, which will help prepare you for the final assignment. The precis will be submitted for sign off and formative feedback. This will not count towards your grade. The coursework should be between 2000 and 2500 words (maximum 2500). I will explain the coursework in the first live session on 20th January 2025. For the Coursework you will 

  • Choose a for your study a drug of abuse (with help from the module team if required).
  • You will outline what the drug is an how it works
  • You will describe and critically evaluate techniques used in detection and analysis of this drug
  • You will find and outline a forensic case study example. The case study should be of forensic relevance (poisoning and so on).
  • This will be developed through a series of sessions within the module.
