Discussion Question 1 -Healthcare Information and Communications Technology to Support Care According to the Re-Envisioned AACN Essentials approved on 4/6/2021, advanced level nurses need to attain competency in the area of Domain 8 – Informatics and Healthcare Technologies. Domain 8 Competency 8.1 sub competencies highlight the importance of advanced level nurses being able to describe, identify best evidence for, and evaluate impact of the variety of healthcare information and communications technology that are used to support the care of patients, communities, and populations. Healthcare information and communication technologies consist of more than the EHR.
