Your final paper is a 6-8 pages, double spaced, 12-point font, essay analyzing a primary source that illuminates something about piracy before 1850. You may write about one or more than one source depending on the questions you are asking. This paper requires no secondary sources (meaning those written by historians or hacks on the web) but you can use Pirate Nests for context. You should base your analysis on the original documents like we have been doing all quarter long. You may choose to write a more extended paper on documents already assigned or you may choose to write about another document on web links in course content that I have already downloaded.
