You pick the topic. Please send an 4 -page Critical Thinking (CT) paper about a topic of your choice with a minimum of four (4) peer-reviewed journal articles. It must be written in APA format.
It must be relevant to Social Psychology and PSY
622-0.
Your CT will be typed at the top of the paper with the following items clearly labeled in the margin; a) Title,
b) Thesis statement (Clearly written in 1-2 sentences), c) Rationale (your reason) for selection.
(These 3 label elements are mandatory).
For example, below the student header and at the top of the paper:
TITLE: (write a title here, no more than 15 words)
THESIS: (what is the main thesis, purpose, or goal of the article?)
RATIONALE: (why did YOU select this journal article or topic? …..this is YOUR opinion)
You will critically reflect on an aspect of social psychology. You may find and examine a particular topic that interests you (you decide). You may select topics from a wide spectrum of influencers from social media, entertainment media (TV, movie, comic books, etc.), personal experiences, the news, documentary film, photos, websites, or the textbook. You can go about finding the portrayal in two ways:
Find an area of particular interest to you and then search for research articles or peer-reviewed journals of the same subject.
Critically review and write a summary of the content (agree/disagree, pros/cons) with particularly compelling support or argument to support your point-of-view (POV) with research from the experts.
The CT content (paper) must be 4 single spaced full pages Points will be deducted for submissions of the research paper with less than 8 full pages of content, improper topic page format outlined above, or incorrect APA citations and references (e.g., average 2-5 points deducted… or more). NOTE: If unfamiliar with APA style, we will discuss in class or see the Purdue OWL website.
Tip: make sure you find at least five (5) peer-reviewed references, journals, or scholarly writings published in the past 5 years before submitting your topic for approval. Do not use Wikipedia, blogs, websites, personal experiences, testimonials, interviews, newspapers, consumer magazines, or social media as research references (This is not a history paper; 5 years maximum).
