You imagine that you will deliver a 8 to 10 minutes PowerPoint presentation on your project to the class.
Motivation:
Your proposed tour site/s can be located on any place/s on the earth. First, think about places you would like to explore most. Why are you interested in it? How much do you about the place? I want you to become familiar with a place more.
Assignment:
To conduct a research on a place/places, create/present a slideshow with images and facts about the significance of a site/sites to the class.
Process:
Each person choose a topic/place.
Compile information about the subject noting all source information. Create a presentation document that includes, at a minimum, the following information:
Introduction to a tour package (i.e. tour theme)
Overview of the place (i. e. human/physical features of a place/places)
The detailed information of sites (i.e. images, photos)
Summary
References
You will need at least two maps (one for the package and one for the general)
Submit your work.
Guidelines:
Your tour should have a theme about wherever your tour sites are.
Be sure to proofread everything you write: your presentation should not have any errors in spelling, grammar, capitalization, or punctuation (but if you want to occasionally use all-lowercase or all-uppercase text for stylistic reasons, that’s fine).
For images you’re using that have text in them, make sure the text is big enough to be read easily; a good way to keep this in mind is to assume that your audience has poor eyesight.
For your PowerPoint presentation, you should cite all the sources you use by including the author/source in figure captions, or in parenthesis in text, for example: “Image from NASA”. We must be able to see where you found every image and significant fact in your project, and we may check some of these to make sure you’re citing correctly. For any non-internet sources you use (which are optional), put a list of citations at the end of your presentation alphabetized by author’s last name. For each image you find when looking for material to use in your project, I’d suggest immediately copying its URL and pasting it below the image in your project file, and write a caption for the image right away, before you forget where you found it and what the image shows
Most importantly: HAVE FUN! Really, that’s a required part of your project, and a component of your grade. For example, you could stick some appropriate, non-offensive jokes or funny images into your presentation if you can make them seem relevant to your topic (they’re useful for maintaining your audience’s attention).
