High-School Confidential: Notes on Teen Movies by David Denby
Write an introduction paragraph with a strong statement that argues whether or not you agree or disagree with Denby. Provide general sentences that build up to your THESIS STATEMENT. Your THESIS must provide your ARGUMENT (side) on the TOPIC provided above. Do not use the first person.
Write one body paragraph that provides two (2) quotes from Denby’s piece. These quotes must tie in with your argument and support your stance. Be sure to cite the author correctly in MLA format.
You can really take a stand and decide if you agree with the author or not, and perhaps agree with some aspects but not all of their claims. Your second body paragraph should provide another quote from the assigned reading in MLA format.
Write a third body paragraph supporting your article, as every body paragraph must do.
Write a fourth body paragraph supporting your thesis and focusing on another aspect. Cite the author again as evidence / proof for your thesis.
Your conclusion must 1st restate your thesis and then summarize key points from your paper.
