Write a paper that summarizes the attached reading and powerpoint. In addition to summarizing the main
themes and ideas from them, make an argument about what you thought about their lecture and readings—do you agree with them? Why or why not? A strong paper is analytical and not just descriptive. Please only rely on the attached sources—do not bring in any additional material. Cite sources by using in text citation style, for example: (Author last name, page number).
Structure/Organization of the paper:
The paper should be comprised of three sections:
Section 1 (150-200 words): Write an introductory paragraph in which you summarize your
essay. Make sure to briefly introduce the key themes you will summarize from the powerpoint and
readings, and then clearly state your thesis (arguments) for sections two and three.
Section 2 (450-500 words): Summarize the reading you are discussing and bring it into
conversation. Define the most important key terms for the topic and explain how these terms are used to elaborate on the topic. Be sure to summarize the author’s main argument or arguments.
Section 3 (250-300 words): Explain what you thought about the reading for the topic you have just summarized. Make your own argument about the ideas in the reading: did you agree with the speaker? Why or why not? What additional
questions about the topic are you left with?
Section 4 (150-200 words): Write a concluding paragraph in which you summarize your paper
and arguments again, but now in the form of a conclusion that wraps up the paper.
