A rich picture represents an illustration of ill-defined problems by drawing detailed representations of them. A rich picture is a model that represents the organization’s components and relationships to discover appropriate solutions. A drawing can evoke and record insights and impressions of a situation and is usually conducted before you know clearly which parts of the situation should be regarded as part of the problem. The representation should showcase cause-and-effect scenarios, relationships, connections, and influences. A rich picture is an attempt to capture everything that might be relevant to a complicated situation.
What are the organizations sources of competitive advantage? Has the organization approached strategic management (i.e., market participation, market entry modes, location and configuration of specific functional/value chain activities, etc.) in a way that leverages its competitive advantage and/or potential for success? Does the organization follow a strategy appropriate for the matrix of environmental forces? Is the organization structured appropriately? Is the organizations leadership effective?
