We aspire to improve population health when we organize and
deliver health care services. However, there are many definitions of health. To
aspire to improve health, one needs a standard and a measurable definition.
1. 1- Review the OECD Excel spreadsheet
and write a 350-500 word summary of the strengths and weaknesses of the US
healthcare system with respect to cost, access and quality based only on the
data available to you. Describe what measures in the spreadsheet you would use
to determine the value of healthcare in the US.
2. 2- Prepare a metric, i.e. a score,
based on a formula you create that uses certain data elements in the
spreadsheet weighted as you think appropriate and compare your results to 3
other countries. Summarize your findings.
