Topic: Your paper can be on any topic related to crime victims. It can be completed with a
partner in class but notice the differences for groups on the grading rubric. This paper will
incorporate what you learned in trainings (if applicable), the lectures, required readings/videos,
guest speakers (if applicable), and doing outside research.
General Paper Requirements: This is an academically written paper that should be a minimum
of 4 pages (excluding the title page, abstract, and reference page) double-spaced and in Times
New Roman 12-point font. You do not need an abstract. This paper should be organized, have
good transitions and sentence structure, and be well written. This paper should be written in 3rd
person language. Avoid I believe, in my opinion, etc. Do not quote.
Points will be deducted from the overall grade of the paper if these conditions are not met. The
Writing Center is available for you to use to help you with your paper.
You must be in class the day the paper is due. If you are not, then you will have a 5% grade
deduction from the paper. Additionally, if it is turned in after class starts that day, then there will
be a 5% grade deduction. Each day late, there will be a 10% grade deduction
