This week we examine the Modern Ethical Paradigms of Relativism (Benedict), Existentialism (Sartre), Feminism (Noddings) and Pluralism (Kane). In a 750-1000 word response, answer the following questions:
1. In brief, explain the core of each of these ethical theories (quoting from the text to support your answers).
2. Which of them have potential bearing on your research paper?
3. What does Robert Kane propose, in the end, as a way forward through the “moral maze” of our modern context? Explain his concept of “openness” and relate it to the last chapter of our textbook “Religion and Morality.” What common theme/thread do you see?
4. Read and/or Listen to one of the “linked” podcasts/transcripts in the page “Examples of Life-Changing Constructive Dialog” in our module this week, and reflect on how this applies to our reading this week by Robert Kane applies.
