succurely

This is an informative speech
to explain to the audience about an idea or concept. Given that your next
speech is a persuasive policy and/or charity or cause advocacy speech, you may
wish to choose a topic that provides a good background for your next speech.
Requirements:
·
Choose your concept
carefully. You may choose any topic, but remember that it may be helpful to
keep your final speech in mind! This is not required, but it
would be helpful.
·
Relate your concept to your
audience (your peers and your instructor). I will be sending a document that
compiles all of the data from the “Audience Analysis Questionnaire” to assist
with this.
·
You may choose
to prepare a visual aid, but it is not mandatory. We have a computer,
projector, and document projector. If you choose to use PowerPoint, remember to
limit graphics, colors, and font choices.
·
You must use a speaker’s
outline or note-cards! Do not try to deliver your speech without notes!
·
You should spend time
developing your supporting materials, planning the speech, and rehearsing it
aloud.
·
You must have
an MLA “Works Cited” with at least five (5) sources. It must be
turned in with an MLA-formatted Speaker’s Outline before you are allowed
to speak.
Length: Four
(4) to Five (5) Minutes
·
You will have a grace period
of 30 seconds either way of the time limit.
·
30 seconds to 1 minute
over/under = -10 points
·
Over 1 minute over/under
= -15
points
