1. Read and analyze THE FILE ATTATCHED BELOW
2. Provide a typed summary of the article (approximately 1 – 1.5 pages. The summary should have 1 inch margins, using 12-point font. Use a third person perspective (no “I” or “we”). The summary should include the following information:
– A general overview of the topic
– The methodology used to write the article
A brief discussion of the methodology used to analyze the research topic (this is NOT about
the results/findings presented within the paper – this involves the methods/sources
or process that the authors used to get their information to write the article – how did they
get this info? Did they do a study? If so, what kind? Did they review other sources of
information? If so, which ones?
– The findings of the study
3. Discussion section (approximately ½ page)
– Briefly talk about some of the potential policy implications (possible changes for the
criminal justice system to address this issue) and the significance of this topic to society.
– This is the critical thinking part of the assignment – do NOT just cite the
recommendations in the article – this should represent your own ideas/thoughts on the
issue; how does this issue affect the criminal justice system (victims, suspects, trust,
efficiency, etc.)? What policies should be changed or what action should be taken?
4. A separate reference page with the APA citation for the article.
Total should be no more than 3 pages!
