There are a variety of tools, methods and skills used in continuous quality improvement, as discussed in the Contemporary Techniques and Tool Module. In your online group, select one method or tool used in quality improvement and critically evaluate the tool/method/skill use in health care. Once your group has determined the tool that it is going to explore, one representative from the group should indicate the topic in the Wiki Post Topic Selection database in the Assessment: Wiki Post module.

Once you have selected its topics, the group should address the following prompts with regard to your tool:

  1. Describe your tool/method/skill.
  2. How isthe tool/method/skill used?
  3. Are there particular contextsthat the tool/method/skill is used?
  4. What isthe tool/method/skill advantages anddisadvantages?
  5. What isthe group’s assessment of your tool/method/skill effectiveness in ensuring patient safety?

This is a group activity, and all members of the group must contribute to the wiki. In your prepared response, you should access and use current research literature to support your assessment. On completion, each wiki will be available for viewing by the whole student cohort.
