The IC reflects the resilience of a given service when confronted by a cyber-attack. In this initial setup, a node can be either resi lent or not resilient. The overall tracking service (TS) resilience is an effect of the resilient operation of the four nodes. That is, all must be not resilient for the TS to become not resilient. Further. the impact of the radar station to the ove all resilience of the TS is believed to be in the order of 90%, while the impact of each of the ADS-B stations is believed to be 70%.

  1. Build a BN for calculating the TS resilience. Leverage the independence of causal influence that exists between the elements impacting the TS QoS. Do not use trigger variables.
  2. Build the same model you did in a” above but using trigger variables.
  3. Calculate the TS IC for a situation after an attack, in which only the P15 and the P20 platforms’ ADS-B station are still resilient.
  4. You conducted a preliminary testing of your model and noted that data from 500 events show 5 situations in which all nodes reported a NotResilient status, but the track service was observed directly as keeping resilience. Adapt your model in a” above to account for these observations.
  5. Adapt your model in “b above to account for the results of the preliminary testing.
