The essay has two parts. In the first, of the Nobel
laurates discussed this week which ONE do you think has had the greatest impact
on the progress of science? Justify your choice with select examples of
their work, or of work by others that was directly influenced by the
laureate. In the second part, use Neurotree (https://neurotree.org/neurotree/) to identify ONE student (graduate or postdoc)
who studied under the laureate and has significantly advanced the work of that
mentor. Give select examples of the work of the “child”
including work done in the mentor’s lab and that performed after leaving the
mentor’s lab. Give relevant literature citations (5-10
recommended). Each module paper is due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday of
that module-week.
