Students are expected to complete 2-3-page summaries of each section of the text. At the end of each week, the summaries are due. The summary should introduce the material, describe the basic content, discuss its relevance to social science and explore how it might be discussed or shared with students. Use the basic descriptive who, what, when, where and significance model to frame your discussion. Be sure your summary has an introduction (with a thesis which is underlined), a body and conclusion. Summaries should be doubled spaced and at least 12 point font. For the pedagogical component, use the Method of Social Science Teaching Approaches to think about which approach might be most useful for conveying information to students about the topic.
