Instead, let’s watch some very cool videos, Fierce Women of Art 1, and Fierce Women of Art 2 from the PBS show, Art Assignment (which is a fantastic show, btw). Watch these two videos, think about who you would identify as a fierce woman of photography, design, or art, and create a post around this maker. The two videos here are from 2015 and 2016 respectively, and do not address the differences we recognize in gender (cis-gender, trans-gender, a-gender), so when you choose your artist, you can interpret the prompt as you see best, just keep in the spirit of the host Sarah Urist Green’s introduction of the second video…to build a space where representation of genders in visual works is equal with respect to the space already afforded (cis-gendered) men. If you love one of the artists Green covers, you can post about them, but add to the knowledge Green establishes. Your post should:
Include an artwork from or link to a short video about the artist.
Clearly identify the artist and the name of the artwork or where the short video is from.
A 200 word description about what you think is brave or exciting or interesting or beautiful about this person’s work and short explanation as to why you chose the work.
