The only requirement is that you analyze some aspect of the text, using examples! Some options:

• Select a chapter and analyze how Abraham expresses one of the themes we discussed in class.
• Why does Black Sunday contain so much childhood trauma? Is it exploitative?
• Why does the novel use varying points of view?
• Select one of the main characters from Black Sunday (Ariyike, Bibike, Peter or Andrew) and describe how they learn the expected norms, values and behaviors associated with their gender. Use quotes, passages and examples from the text to explain how gender roles for this character are learned from the environment (family, friends, societal expectations, media, etc.) around them. Do they receive conflicting messages? Describe those conflicts and speculate on the effect they have on the character.
• Select an aspect of one of the characters’ lives in Black Sunday that have been impacted or decided by outcomes or processes associated with globalization. Remember, these aspects can include government, military, criminal justice, education, religion, finances, values and beliefs, media, self esteem and personal value, gender, identity, personal relationships, etc. How have these aspects of the characters’ lives been impacted by globalization? Has globalization had a positive or negative impact on the way these aspects of the characters’ lives affect them?
