Research Paper: Students will be assigned a research paper on the stories of Preston Plevretes, Chris Benoit, and Aaron Hernandez that will need to meet the following criteria:
* 3-5 pages in length
* 12 point font
* Times New Roman
* Double Spaced
* Cited in APA Format
The papers will need to include the following information:
Second-impact syndrome and Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). (30 pts)
*Compare and contrast these two conditions in detail.
* What are they?
* How is it diagnosed?
* What are the signs and symptoms?
* Who is affected?
* How do you prevent them?
* What are the treatments (if any)?
* What are the possible lasting symptoms?
Preston Plevretes: (50 pts)

* What sport did Preston play?
* What happened to him while he was playing? Describe in detail, while also discussing:
– The specific injury
– The mechanism of injury, signs & symptoms, and treatment for the injury

Aaron Hernandez: (50 pts)

* What organization was he a part of?
* What happened to him?
* What events led up to his death?
* What are all the legal issues he faced throughout his life?
* Explain the incident that led to his arrest and the possible motives and reasons for his actions.
* How did the New England Patriots and the NFL respond?
* How did other individuals in the football world respond?
* How did his family respond after his death?
* What was reported about Hernandez and CTE?
* There are several possible factors linked to his behavior over the years. What are they?
* Do you think his childhood, family life, personal life, or mental health played a role in Hernandez’s actions? Why or why not?
