Your assignment is to use the Grants.gov website to search for a grant that would fund research in an interest area of your choice. In addition to finding the grant, write up a narrative that provides the following information on the announcement you chose. Your write up must include:

What your interest area is

Funding opportunity number and title

• Include URLs for the grants.gov announcement and full award information
• Identify the grant making agency (If NIH, also include which institute)
• Summarize the purpose of the funding opportunity
• Provide the posting date, application due date, review dates, earliest start date for funding if awarded, and announcement expiration date (If ‘standard’ date, determine your dates using the funding agency’s tables for the current cycle)
• Provide how much funding is being offered
• Provide funding timeline
• Provide any named contacts including their title and contact info for the announcement
• Why you chose this grant and how it fits with your interest area.
• Your grant can come from any grant making agency, but your interest area and purpose of the funding opportunity must be to address a health related issue. So, grants for improved roadways from the Department of Transportation would not be acceptable, but if the Department of Transportation has a grant for research into reducing drunk driving fatalities, that would be acceptable.
