1. We’ve seen the term “algorithmic imaginary” come up across multiple readings. What is an “algorithmic imaginary”? Describe it in at least two different contexts (e.g., gig work vs. predictive policing vs. social media).
2. What do Rosenblat and Stark mean by “information asymmetry”? How could this concept be used to talk about contexts beyond gig work (e.g., predictive policing or social media)?
3. Do you think platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok should police content creators’ attempts to “game the system”? If so, what do you think is the best way to do this?
