Prompt: For our last discussion post of the semester, please take the Big 5 Personality Test (https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/IPIP-BFFM/ (Links to an external site.)). This test should take about 10 minutes to complete. After completing the test, pick two of the factors from your results to discuss in your post. I am expecting you to clearly state which factors you’re choosing (using the Big 5 traits (OCEAN) from our lecture slides/textbook), define the factor (you can use your book/our lecture slides for this, but indicate where you found the definitions (slide number or page number is required)), and state whether you agree or disagree with your score for that factor and why. You can pick any two factors you’d like. You can choose your highest and lowest scoring factor or maybe your score on two of the factors surprised you and you want to talk about it. Whichever two you want to talk about, you can.
Requirements: Please be grammatically correct and use full sentences. Your response can model the format (i.e. labeling each requirement) I provide in my example post. Your response should be no less than 150 words. Any response less than 150 words will be deducted points for not following instructions.
Note: After you finish the test, there will be a page asking you if you want to share your scores with the researchers. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SHARE YOUR SCORES IF YOU DON’T WANT TO. You can still get your results without sharing them.
Also, they use different factor names sometimes, but they include the Big 5 OCEAN names (from our lecture slides) in the trait descriptions. In the results, Emotional Stability (their term) is the same as Neuroticism (our term from class) and Intellect/Imagination (their term) is the same as Openness (our term from class). Please make sure to include the OCEAN trait names in your post!
*Example: When I took the Big Five Personality Test, I found some interesting results. The two factors I’m choosing to discuss in this post:
Factor 1: This factor is defined as…The score I received for this factor is…I agree/disagree with this score because…
Factor 2: This factor is defined as…The score I received for this factor is…I agree/disagree with this score because…
*I am not going to use a specific example. Since there are only 5 possible factors, I don’t want to take up two and have you all not able to use them in your posts. Reminder: I am expecting your responses to be at least 150 words!*
