Pre-recorded concert performance

CONCERT CRITIQUE:

You are to watch one live concert, live stream show, or pre-recorded concert performance that features American music and write a critique of that same performance (2-page minimum/3 page maximum double- spaced). This critique is worth 50 points and must contain the following:
Calendar
SCC Library
• A picture of the show you attended, or a link to the show you watched and a screenshot of that performance
Reference to researched material regarding the style or performance. For example, if you went to the Phoenix
Symphony to see Aaron Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man,” you need to include researched facts about
Inbox
Copland and that particular work.
History
 Reference to at least THREE items discussed in class, for example:
Help
Instruments used and their history and/or significance to American music
Library
Meter, form, rhythms, improvisation (?) used
Logout
Genre and stylistic characteristics of performance
Compare/contrast with other American performers and/or composers
• At least one paragraph that includes your personal evaluation of the performance.
• Lastly, DO NOT use colloquial terms, i.e.: cool (unless referring to the jazz era during the 1950’s), awesome, sweet, hot, etc.
