Students are to identify and briefly discuss a policy area of concern (use a current policy issues in the news media or CFDA policy program issues). Present the specific policy area and the particular policy of interest (e.g. Education-No Child Left Behind, Employment-minimum wage, Housing-Fair Housing Act, agency/organization – Allowable Mental Health services, etc). Identify the target population/group of the policy. State the purpose of the policy and why this area is of concern requiring policy attention. State any ethical, diversity, and or human rights/justice concerns that may (negatively or positively) impact the target clients system (individual, family, group, orgs, community) as a result of the policy.
