Ongoing public involvement (a-24 – a-27)

succurely

As noted in Randolph, Watershed Restoration and Management Plans are a critical tool for
organizing and implementing a cooperative approach to the protection of the water quality in a
watershed.
Drawing from the posted document, A Guidebook for Local Governments for Developing
Regional Watershed Protection Plans, criteria can be identified for use in evaluating the quality
of such a plan.
This project involves an evaluation of the posted Buck Creek Watershed Protection Plan using
the protocol shown on the next page.
Project instructions:
Copy and use the Protocol Assessment Table on the next page to conduct a protocol evaluation.
For each criterion, enter a numerical value that corresponds to your assessment of how that
aspect is treated in the Plan. For example, if you feel that the Plan’s data collection element is
explained well and does a good job of following the data collection recommendations of the
Guidebook, you may mark it a value of 3.
Your project score will be based on an answer key that is flexible to account for the inherent
subjectivity in such an analysis.
Save and submit your Protocol assessment table as “Project 3 table – your last name.”
