NR 447 Week 5 Discussion: Reflection on Knowledge of Competencies Answer
Solution:
My state of practice in New York (NY). I am still getting familiar with the NY Nurse Practice Act (NPA). The state protects the state to ensure it receives quality and safe care by ensuring that nurses receive their licensure before they can practice as LPNs, RN, NPs, etc. The NPA also guides the nursing practice to ensure the protocols and procedures used are up-to-date and safe for the patient (NYSED.gov., 2016).
