Observation Essay (15%): Write a 900-1200 word description of the experience of standing or sitting still in one particular place. The spot can be “natural” or not, however you define that word. The audience of your paper is your fellow classmates. The purpose of the description is to evoke the experience of being at that spot as vividly as possible through careful observation, concrete description, and selection of details. Description of subjective feelings is optional; you should decide whether or not you think subjective description would enhance the vividness of the reader’s experience.
