My controversial topic that I picked was Physical punishment to Discipline children
In Week 2 you selected
a topic involving Child Abuse Recognition & Investigation to
research. Topics can vary widely, but should relate to an issue of
child abuse or neglect. Topics may include a particular behavior that
may or may not be seen as abuse, an approach to child abuse, a response
to child abuse, or a failure of the child abuse prevention and response
system.
Your topic must have two sides for debate (do not pick a topic that
is clearly and unarguably abuse or not). If you have specific questions
or concerns about your topic, you should discuss the topic with the
instructor.
Review available academic and contemporary literature looking at all
sides of the issue. This may include obtaining information from
reliable news sources, reliable web sites or books, or obtaining
information from a peer-reviewed journal.
Then explain and defend at least 2 points of view on the
controversial topic convincingly. Critique the validity of the points
of view and state in the end your own position with a brief explanation.
A written, typed paper free of spelling, grammatical, and
typographical errors will be submitted via Canvas. The paper should be 4-6 pages in length (1000 to 1500 words) and should comply with APA format (to include references and citations).
