Assignment Task

The group project requires the students to apply the theories and concepts learnt in the course to a practical setting. Students are to form teams of five (5) to produce a written report and. This assignment carries a weightage of 40% of the final grade. Each team is to select a supply chain of choice, identifying ONE potential area or business situation where project management can be applied. Groups need to introduce the supply chain and describe the specific scenario. Furthermore, groups need to highlight how and why project management is appropriate is such a scenario and what are its limits. Recommendations should be provided on how the specific project is to be run.

The report should consist of the following main sections:

Introduction of the supply chain and the project management scope of the selected area.
Discussion and analysis of the project management plan, scope, structure, and verification of project deliverables.
Recommendations on running the project to manage risk, project creep and its control.
Conclusion on appropriateness of project management skills and technical skills to the project.
