Intro (introduce the topic and set the scene with descriptive details- who, what, when, where)
Topic: Adversity is inevitable in this course of life that we are on. There are no avoiding obstacles. The only thing we can control is how we deal with it all. Many have constructed one or more systems to ensure their well-being through difficult times. For me, the sport of basketball became the safety net that helped me through some of the most challenging times of my life. Something so ordinary, such as playing basketball at my local park with my neighbors with whom I formed deep relationships, later on had a great impact on my life. Fortunately, it also became something that I became extremely skilled at over time.
Thesis (what you learned; you may want to fill this in after everything else):
Body Paragraph 1.
How you started covid, moving…….
Body Paragraph2
Quote by Joan Didion
“All I knew then was what I wasn’t, and it took me some years to discover what I was.”
Relate it to life
Body Paragraph 3
How you are getting better at the game and how it’s helping your life.
Quote by Jose Olivarez
“We were empty bank accounts, and it was our teacher’s responsibility to deposit facts.”
Conclusion (bring things up to date; what you are doing now; how did earlier experiences influence you)
I ask that you try your hand at writing a dazzling essay that explores something you do really well. In your essay, I ask that you try incorporating some of the techniques these writers use. I also ask that you bring in a quote or two from one of these writers that relates to your narrative in some way.
The topic is now basketball is that skill that has improved over the past 3 years since I moved to NY from NJ.
