Choose one of the discussion questions to answer in your initial post, being sure to address all parts of the question. Respond to two other students in the class who chose different questions from the one that you chose, if possible.
1. Do you have a favorite subgenre of rock and roll? Give an example of one of your favorite songs and tell why the subgenre appeals to you.
2. Listen to at least one minute of the following songs on the Module 6 Playlist:
“Tocatta” by Emerson Lake and Palmer
“Sunshine of Your Love” by Eric Clapton and Cream
“You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King
“Let’s Dance” by Donna Summer
Can you imagine the typical audience for each of the songs above? Write a generalized description of the likely fans for each song including gender and age.
3. Describe how the drug culture and the Vietnam conflict of the late 60’s and the 70’s influenced the development of rock music. Do you think this development was positive or negative? Why?
