Mesopotamia: A firtle land, the land between two rivers ‘Mesopotamia’. a civilization focused on agriculture and food trade look at page 77 in the textbook. They were called Sumerians. Temples, trade of food “Trade routes expanded dramatically, binding the peoples of Mesopotamia to the Mediterranean and bringing foods from as far away as Scandinavia and China.” their writing was cuneiform ( page 84. page 98 they developed math. they had rulers and laws page 108.
Ancient Egypt: they had pharos they served as God above men
similarities: they were divided into classes. Both Mesopotamia and Egypt were covered by streams of water that help with plantations. both cities were divided into classes.
THESIS STATEMENT: even though both civilizations harness power and political unification, their differences set them apart.
things to add in the essay: before Mesopotamia is introduced, we see a development in the town of Çatalhöyük. through an organization, cloth, pottery and paintings introduce the structure of their homes. hunting for food with weapons did not seize their hunger for food for they grew grains, fruits, and nuts. they honor their ancestors through religious rites. they understood the importance of beings being powerful when they share a common goal, and what enables human interaction is civilization (THIS IDEA IS FROM PAGE 78). through the evolution of this socialization, we also see how Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt come about.
