Global Authoritarian Movements

In April, the French President Emmanuel Macron defeated Marine Le Pen to win his second term in office. In the wake of Brexit and global authoritarian movements, the international community implored French voters to support Macron. In your essay, analyze how national elections are connected to global geopolitics. Be sure to use three themes from the course in your response (nationalism, imperialism, capitalism, etc.)
