Formulate a Research Question and Conduct and Review Key Research
Instructions (examine family therapy within an African-American family with an adolescent diagnosed with PTSD and alcohol abuse)(Use this example please)
For this assignment, choose a topic of interest to you that will promote your delivery of culturally competent services to a family from a traditionally underserved population (e.g., an underserved minority population, an underserved religious group, a military family). You will then find at least four scholarly resources on the topic. Choose a narrow topic. For example, you may choose to examine family therapy within an African-American family with an adolescent diagnosed with PTSD and alcohol abuse or play therapy for children with a parent experiencing PTSD related to military service. You may examine quantitative studies (highlighting statistics/numbers) and/or qualitative studies (highlighting stories/experiences). You are encouraged to email your proposed research question to your instructor in advance for discussion.

To complete the assignment, write down the research question that you were able to formulate based on the synthesis that you developed by comparing and contrasting the four articles and a brief paragraph outlining any clinical implications that you can draw from the information reviewed (i.e., What do marriage and family therapists need to know, consider, and do when presented with a family facing this issue?). Next, provide a few examples of how the authors of the articles that you referenced demonstrated sensitivity and adhered to ethical standards in conducting research with an underserved population. The paper will be graded for content, clinical implications, organization, and APA style and grammar.
