For our second discussion this week I want us to focus specifically on the “fals

For our second discussion this week I want us to focus specifically on the “false cause fallacy”. Here’s a nice breakdown of what going on in this fallacy: “False Cause: the fallacy committed when an argument mistakenly attempts to establish some state of affairs produces the effect of another state of affairs. The mistake made is reasoning to a conclusion which depends on a supposed causal connection which does not actually exist, is not known to exist, or probably does not exist.” (Link below for citation)
What I would like for you to do is go onto any news website an go to their opinion page. Find an OpEd and see if you can locate a false cause fallacy. Then share your findings with the group and we will all discuss.
Best,
Ben
