Discussion Topic: Ch.13 DCh.13 D
Dear Students,
After reading Ch.13, please answer the following. Be sure to respond to each prompt with at least 5-8 content filled sentences (+90), and then respond to another learner, including information from a scholarly article from the SCF database or your text (+10).
1. Please complete the questionnaire 13.1 and report your answers. Discuss two of the topics specifically and give facts from the book for the right answers. Be sure to use in-text citation and reference. (+30)
Table 13.1 is a survey of your attitudes versus based on your learning/reading and you should answer and all of them and report your answers. The two you choose to elaborate on could be from either chapter, but since you would be referencing the book to discuss the answer and why what you chose was or was not an accurate stereotype, you may be looking ahead for the foundation of the answer, if you choose the ones from Ch.14. That is ok if that is what you would like to address. It is entirely up to you which of the stereotypes you choose to discuss.
2. Please discuss the socioemotional selectivity theory and discuss some reasons social and emotional priorities change as we age. Remember to cite text. (+30)
3. Discuss some issues related to retirement that you read about. What are some of the things that will predict a happy retirement? Please do not use information from your response to the first prompt in this discussion. Be sure to cite your scholarly sources (book is ok for this). (+30)
