Discuss the possibility of conducting your proposed dissertation research study using a qualitative descriptive design. Include the following in your discussion:
A problem statement for the study is (It is not known how teachers describe self-determination as a contributor to academic performance with connection to physical education for 7th and 8th-grade students.)
A purpose statement for the study (The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore the teacher’s description of self-determination through physical education and how it benefits the 7th and 8th-grade students and their overall academic success in Southern California.)
At least two research questions are appropriate to the proposed study. The two questions are (RQ1 How do teachers describe self-determination as a benefactor to achieving higher academic success for 7th through 8th-grade students?) and (RQ2 How do teachers describe autonomy as a benefactor to higher academic success with involvement of physical education for 7th and 8th-grade students?)
An analysis of the feasibility of conducting the study as a qualitative descriptive study.
An analysis of the alignment of the study components.
An analysis of the fit of this design to the proposed problem statement, purpose statement, and research questions. Do you believe this is a reasonable design for addressing your study topic? Why or why not?
