The aim of this assessment is to assess students’ understanding of the effects of Evidence-based practice on healthcare costs and patient outcomes, the importance of the four components of evidence based practice, and strategies for promoting staff engagement in the implementation of evidence based practice in a health care setting.
Introduction
Your introduction should introduce the significance of evidence-based practice in providing quality nursing or midwifery care and briefly preview the key areas to be discussed in your report.
Body
The body of your report should contain a discussion that answers the following three key areas:
- Discuss how evidence-based practice can reduce healthcare costs and improve patient outcomes.
- Describe the importance of the four components of evidence based practice (best available evidence, context, patient preference and professional judgement) when planning the implementation of research.
- Identify strategies for promoting staff engagement in the implementation of evidence based practice in a health care setting.
