This week, as the project manager for International Logistics Services, you are starting to form the project team. An employee who works on the loading dock recently earned the Project Management Institute’s Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) designation. The employee wants to join your project team. However, the loading dock supervisor has not approved this assignment. The loading dock supervisor indicated that resources on the dock are already constrained and has expressed a lack of support to change how the warehouse is run.
Develop a negotiation strategy to obtain the loading dock supervisor’s cooperation with your project and specifically assign the employee to the project team.
