By now each of you should have read your book in its entirety. For your final- term paper, you will complete a book-review on your selected reading along with a video presentation. In this assignment you will provide a review of your book by summarizing the details and main arguments presented within the book. Your Final Term Paper is worth 100 points and will be due Wednesday, May 12th; but can be submitted anytime before the due-date if you wish to fulfill the remaining requirements for this course early. This book review will be between 2-4 pages depending on how you write/format your sentences. I have provided for you (in as much detail as possible) an outline and format below, to guide you through writing your review.
1. Paragraph 1: Provide a summary of the book
• What is this book about (3-5 sentences)
• Main character(s)- the role/position of the character(s) (1-3 sentences)
• Historical context (Era the book was written/era the book discussed, setting, background of author-hometown,era lived, life etc.) (4-6 sentences)
• Main argument/main point/purpose of the book (what was the author trying to convey to the reader?) (2-5 sentences)
2. Paragraph 2: Provide an evaluation of the book
• What problem(s)/issue(s)/conflict(s) does this book address/discuss (This is different from the main argument/point of the book.) (2-5 sentences)
• Provide your perspective of the book (what you think/believe/reject/agree with about the book (4-6 sentences)
• Discuss/identify what you consider to be the most significant part of the book and why (4-6 sentences)
3. Paragraph 3: Provide closing evaluation/summary of the book
• What is your main takeaway from the book? (i.e what part(s) of this book will you remember most/provided the most impact) (3-6 sentences)
• In what way will this book benefit/increase your understanding of the author and topic(s) discussed in the book? (2-5 sentences)
• In what way is this book relevant to today? (2-5 sentences)

• 12 pt.
• Times New Roman
• Double spaced
• Each paragraph indented
• 1” margins
• Cite all references
• Include bibliography of work cited (at least one source; this will be your book.)
