Your case material for the completion of this assignment uses the Fyre Music Festival as a backdrop and platform. This was scheduled to take place on two weekends in April-May, 2017. The case is a notorious and already infamous example of spectacular project failure.

It has already been documented extensively in film, documentaries, net clips and social media commentaries. This provides extensive material on which project management students can draw on to complete this case study.

Fast forward, its July 2022 and many want to spread their wings again and attend events after 2 yrs. of covid.

Assume you are an event manager with a world-wide reputation and extensive knowledge of the planning and promotion of successful international music festival projects.

You receive a call from an agent working on behalf of a well-known entrepreneur asking you to resurrect and plan a new “Fyre” festival at the same location in August 2023 – but this time…doing it right! You agree to take up the project planning brief, and this then forms the basis for your assignment.
