Solar Technology Case: This case requires students to properly classify costs as either product or period in determining the appropriate amount for an insurance claim. The case also requires completion of a Cost of Goods Manufactured schedule, calculation of average product cost per unit, Cost of Goods Sold and ending finished goods inventory cost. These calculations will aid in preparation of a corrected Income Statement. The case scenario, data and requirements are found in this file: MBA 621 Chapter 2 Solar Technology Case A.pdf
Students should prepare their responses in either a Word document or Excel spreadsheet. If a Word document is used, insert well formatted tables for the Cost of Goods Manufactured schedule as well as other calculations and reports.
Alternatively, students may use an Excel spreadsheet to prepare reports and calculations.
Excel is not a word processing application. Answers for part 1 can be entered in Excel, but the answers should be entered as comments. Be sure to set the page to show comments when printed (see Page Setup and Sheet in tool bar).
