Assignment: Write an argumentative research paper that presents a clear and well

Assignment: Write an argumentative research paper that presents a clear and well-thought-out argument about an issue listed below. The argument should include the Elements of an Argument (a strong thesis/claim, reasons and evidence, support for assumptions, a rebuttal or an acknowledgment of the other side, common ground, a respectful tone, and professional language).
Length: 2-4 pages.
Details:
This essay needs an introduction with a thesis statement and a forecast of topics.
The argument should be stated clearly in the thesis and the whole essay should explain that argument with reasons and research to support it.
Use two of the provided sources below to support your reasons.
You will also need quotes, paraphrases, and summaries from at least 3 other credible sources to back up your argument (for a minimum of 5 total sources).
Don’t forget to include a conclusion: a restatement of the elements of the issue and your argument.
The Works Citied page goes at the end with all 5 of your citations!
Sources: This assignment requires a minimum of 6 sources, and at least 4 must be reliable sources that you found on your own to cite on this topic. You may conduct research online through the library website, in the library with the help of a librarian, and you may also choose to interview someone knowledgeable about the topic.
Please note that the individual quotes in this essay should be 3 lines or less, and the total amount of quotes should take up no more than 10-15% of your page space. No block quotes.
Citations: Cite all sources both in the text and in the Works Cited page at the end of the paper. For help with 8th edition MLA format, please Google the Online Writing Lab at Purdue University, or email me!
Format: Please type in Times New Roman, double-spaced 12 pt. font, with a title and your info at the top left corner (name, class, date). Please note that essays that are not formatted correctly (sizeable or incorrect font, spaces between paragraphs, headings, large margins, etc.) will lose points, according the syllabus and MLA format.
Grading:
When grading this essay, I will be looking for the following elements:
Strong argument with clear structure and strong details to support each point. Argument answers the prompt.
Appropriate length and development – i.e., introduction and conclusion paragraphs, plus enough body paragraphs to cover the topic thoroughly.
Proper MLA format, as stated above.
Thesis statement that states your argument on the issue.
Topic sentences for each paragraph.
Logical organization.
Quotes and examples from sources to support your body paragraphs.
Quotes that are integrated into the text and properly cited in MLA format in the essay and in the Works Cited page
Rebuttal or discussion of opposing arguments.
Proper grammar and punctuation.
Please Note: Papers that have not been researched will earn a grade of 0 points. Papers that quote sources but do not include a Works Cited page will earn a grade of 0 points. Papers that include a Works Cited page, but no in-text citations will earn 0 points. Please note that these are all examples of plagiarism.
