The nature of travel is changing and a visit to a travel agent is not always necessary. It is now possible to book and plan and entire trip using only Internet resources. Let’s try it (hypothetically). Pick a city you have never visited but would love to visit for a 3 day trip. Using sources from the Internet:
Considering the components of tourism as outlined in your course text plan all of the aspects of your trip. For example:
What mode of transportation might you use to get there?
Choose a high end (i.e. expensive) hotel for a 3 day stay. How much will it cost?
Choose 3 different restaurants to eat in. Did their websites help you make your decision? Why?
Choose 2 attractions to visit and give a brief description of each one.
Find one of the city’s upcoming events and provide a brief description of it.
If you were looking for some outdoor recreation, what is available in or nearby the city that would provide you with exercise?
How does the city use the Internet to sell itself?
Post your travel plans, in your discussion forum group, based on the questions above to get some feedback from your peers.
You must comment on and provide constructive feedback for at least two of your peers’ travel plans.
