· Clearly identify the issue and explain how it impacts government or society.
· Present two or more scholarly opinions or perspectives on the issue (for example, differing arguments, policy proposals, or interpretations).
· Demonstrate critical thinking and balance in discussing multiple viewpoints.
Formatting & Submission
· Minimum Length: 500 words
· Sources: At least two scholarly or credible sources
· Structure: Introduction, at least three body paragraphs, and a conclusion
· Format: MLA Style

Citing Your Sources
Your essay must include a Works Cited page in MLA format. Many NTCC databases provide automatically generated citations — look for a “Cite” or “Citation” link within the article record. Double-check all formatting using the Citation Style Guide on the NTCC Library website.
