Module Title : The Business Environment
A1 Group Presentation : 1500 words (+/-10%)
External business environment presentation
During the first 7 weeks of the module, you will work on a student group presentation project. The project (PPT) is an external business environment analysis, and your study skills will be embedded within this assessment.
The members of your group (3-5 members), and details of the organisation your group will be analysing, will be decided within the second module seminar. Your remit is as follows:
As a team of new graduate recruits, you have been asked to:
Collect information on the key external environmental influences that have affected your organisation’s operations in recent years (approx. the last 5 years).
Consider the likely external environmental influences that will impact your organisation in the future.
As a group, you should undertake some research of your organisation’s external environment. Use the ‘PESTLE’ (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, Ecological,) framework to guide your research. Do not forget to consider the Global business environment (i.e., competitive forces between nations).
The findings will be formally presented to your Business & Management colleagues in Semester 1, Week 8 seminar. You need to ensure that your presentation lasts for 20 minutes (+/- 2 minutes) and that the time is equally distributed among your group members. The presentation will be taken online by tutorial teacher.
The ability to present your work professionally is going to be invaluable when you graduate and enter the workplace. Please note, the aim is to provide a supportive and friendly environment for you to practice and improve your presentation and communication skills.
