Select one theorist highlighted in any chapter of the Tracey & Morrow text to explore . You should read widely and deeply to develop a depth of knowledge about the theorist’s history of influence on instruction, policy, and other scholars. Also identify her/his/their contributions to the field, impact on early literacy, and implications for the field. You will write a 4 to 5-page, double-spaced paper conveying your findings from the literature. You should include, at minimum, five additional resources beyond the class texts. Be sure the paper conforms to APA formatting requirements (title page, running header, references, etc.). We will utilize Turnitin for this assignment (your Turnitin report should be below 25%).

Michel Foucault’s examination of the relationships between students, literacy, and social transformation is interesting to research about. I was thinking about how much students need critical literacy in their daily lives, especially with the big effect that social media have these days. In Saudi Arabia, they have recently started teaching critical thinking skills courses at high schools. I believe that learning critical thinking and rendering skills is one of the most life skills students need to learn at an early age.
